PROJECT MANAGEMENT

PROJECT 1 - Defining and Documenting a Project

This project introduces we students to the definition of project management by working on a
model of a project case study. The we will be introduced to the roles of a project
manager, client, project teams that consist of consultants in various fields and other
stakeholders involved in a project life cycle. We will learn how to identify project objectives
and goals while understanding the strategies to achieve a satisfactory project completion.

 

We will form their own groups and select an actual project implemented by developers
or Architects as the lead consultant. Each member will be tasked to analyse the job scopes of a
project team namely engineers, quantity surveyors, landscape architects, interior designers and
other specialist consultants that contribute to the project success.

Project 2 - Final Project Management Report

This project requires students to document the project management aspects of their final
design project in their respective studios. The report will reflect the students’ understanding in
the terminologies, knowledge areas, application of the tools and systems, planning whilst
demonstrating their capabilities in discharging their duties as a project manager.


This assignment will utilize the knowledge areas that are taught previously where each student
will be asked to demonstrate their leadership qualities in managing their projects based on the
discipline of project management.
