PROJECT 1 - Case Study of Building Services in Multi-storey
buildings Involving Public Use
In a group of 6, we are required to conduct a case study of building services used in a selected building. We have selected MOT (Ministry of Transportation) in Putrajaya as our case study building. In this project, we are to identify and understand relevant information related to building services such as:
(1) Mechanical Ventilation
(2) Air Conditioning System
(3) Fire Protection System (Active & Passive)
(4) Mechanical Transportation System

From the case study from the building services system above, we are needed to understand the functions and purposes of them, furthermore to understand the statutory requirements and regulations involved in building designs and its importance towards practically and public safety. This required us to further investigate the building law in Malaysia by using UBBL 1984.

During final submission, an A4 size academic report and a topic summarised video are to be submitted.
PROJECT 2 - Application of Building Services
In a group of 2, we are required to apply basic building services systems to a domestic sized building - VIC in semester 3 (Studio 3 final project design). This exercise requires us to demonstrate their understanding on the application by producing technical drawings incorporating the necessary building services. In this project, we need to design/propose 4 building services: electrical system, water supply, sewerage system and rainwater harvesting system within the building. Lastly, we needed to compile all the plans in scale and diagrammatic layout in maximum 2 A2 boards for submission and produce a B5 size catalogue which consist of fixture, fittings and equipments that need to be install in the building.
